Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much will my dental treatment cost?

A: Nearly everybody wants to know prices before they come in. However that’s like trying to tell you what a washing machine repair costs; it depends on a number of factors.

What we can say is… we provide dental care at affordable prices. Our fees are based on the quality of the materials and technologies we use, and our expertise in performing the dental treatments. There will always be flexibility and choices available to you based on your requirements, priorities and finances.

Q:Do you accept Q Card?

A: Yes, we do. Please ask our friendly staff member more about Q Card.

Q: Is Wakatipu Dental Centre an ACC provider?

A: Yes we are. At times there may be a private co-payment required if ACC only agrees to pay for part of your claim. Please ask the dentist when you visit.

Q: Is Wakatipu Dental Centre a School Dental Service provider?

A: Yes we are.

We welcome adolescents between the age 13-18. Being a School Dental Service contractor enables us to provide a free annual exam as well as radiographs, sealants and flouride treatments if necessary. A guardian must accompany you for the first visit in order to sign the enrolment form to allow treatment to commence.

Q: Does Wakatipu Dental Centre offer Tooth Whitening (Bleaching) Treatment?

A: Yes we do.

Tooth bleaching is one of the most conservative and cost-effective dental treatments to improve or enhance a person’s smile.

However, tooth bleaching is not risk-free and only limited long-term clinical data are available on the side effects of tooth bleaching.

Accordingly, tooth bleaching is best performed under professional supervision and following a pre-treatment dental examination and diagnosis. In consultation with the patient, the most appropriate bleaching treatment option(s) may be selected and recommended based on the patient’s lifestyle, financial considerations, and oral health.

Patients considering “Over The Counter” products should have a dental examination, and should be reminded that they may unknowingly purchase products that may have little or no beneficial effect on the color of their teeth and may also have the potential to cause harm.
